About AeroType

AeroType is a modern, high-performance touch typing platform designed to help typists build muscle memory, speed, and accuracy through scientific progression.

Our Mission

In the digital age, typing is the primary interface between human thoughts and computer execution. Our mission is to make touch typing accessible, enjoyable, and structured. Whether you are a software engineer writing code, a student compiling theses, a content writer, or an office worker, mastering typing saves thousands of hours of productive time over your career. By removing input bottlenecks, we empower individuals to translate thoughts directly onto the screen without friction.

🧠

Structured Learning

Our lesson catalog targets key rows, symbol reaches, uppercase shifts, and code configurations, locking future tiers until baseline memory is established.

🔥

Heatmap Analytics

The dashboard visualizes error heatmaps across your physical layout (QWERTY, AZERTY, etc.) to target specific weak keys and speed bottlenecks.

🏆

Certifications

Complete rigorous timed or pagination tests to qualify for official Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Diamond speed typing certificates.

The Neuroscience of Touch Typing

Touch typing is not merely a manual skill—it is a cognitive transformation. When you begin learning, your prefrontal cortex is actively engaged in visual searches: looking at a letter, locating it on the board, coordinating your hand, and checking the screen. This loop has a high cognitive load, draining working memory.

Consistent practice triggers a neurological process called myelination. Each time a nerve pathway fires, a protective sheath of myelin wraps around the axons of your motor neurons, insulating them and increasing signal transit speeds by up to 100 times. Gradually, these movements shift from conscious visual coordination into procedural memory managed by the basal ganglia and cerebellum—the same system responsible for riding a bicycle or playing a musical instrument. Once automated, your cognitive resources are fully liberated to focus on syntax, logic, and composition.

Ergonomics & Biomechanics Checklist

Maintaining correct physical posture during typing prevents chronic fatigue, wrist strain, and repetitive strain injuries (RSI) like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Use this ergonomic checklist before every session:

  • Hovering Wrists: Never rest your palms flat on your desk or keyboard tray while actively typing. Your hands should hover slightly, allowing your arms to pivot and navigate keys smoothly.
  • Straight Forearms: Adjust your chair height so that when your fingers rest on the home row, your elbows form a 90 to 100-degree angle, forearms parallel to the floor.
  • Relaxed Shoulders: Keep your shoulders fully dropped and relaxed. Shrugging to reach a high desk constricts blood flow and leads to neck pain.
  • Screen Alignment: Position your monitor directly in front of you, with the top of the screen at eye level to prevent tilting your chin up or down.

The Technology

AeroType is built upon modern web technologies to guarantee high performance and responsiveness:

  • React & Next.js for fast server-side page optimization, static pre-rendering, and seamless layout transitions.
  • Web Audio API for real-time synthesized mechanical keyboard audio click feedback profiles.
  • Firebase & Firestore to secure login identities and sync progress history tables dynamically to the cloud.
